Reutlingen, April 2011. Huyck.Wangner has launched finetexx, its new forming fabric design for SC
papers. Based on the new EDC technology, the fabric forms the sheet very
efficiently thanks to its innovative drainage control (engineered drainage
channels).
The wire density in the machine direction is higher on the running side and lower on
the paper side, while in the cross machine direction, there are more wires. This
results in a unique drainage channel geometry and ensures a controlled, smooth
initial drainage like no other fabric. In addition the new forming fabric thus combines
a very large open surface on the paper side with very high fiber support. The
incomparable finetexx fabric structure leads to an excellent stability and significantly
high drainage capacity. Furthermore, the optimum build up of the initial fiber matt
facilitates the entire drainage proceeding along the former and enables a high dry
content.
Mark-free sheet formation and maximum efficiency
In terms of sheet formation efficiency, finetexx combines the excellent free volume
characteristics of double layer forming fabrics with significantly better FSI properties
than the SSB or SSB fine designs.
By combining controlled dewatering with a large paper side open surface, finetexx
not only optimizes sheet formation and hydrodynamic retention of fines and fillers,
but also features top drainage performance. The benefit to papermakers is
significant potential for higher paper quality, paper machine efficiency and energy
consumption, which gives the former a larger operating window. At the same time
the extraordinarily high fiber support together with the gentle drainage guarantees a
practically mark-free sheet.
